We never really got a chance to say goodbye before, and maybe it's better if we don't now either. That way we can pretend that we'll get to see each other again. Even though I know that if I go back to Storybrooke we'll never see each other again, I feel like this is something I need to do. If I don't go back to Storybrooke, I lose the one thing in my life that has ever meant something.

This means I'll miss out on so much, Papa. It hasn't been easy for us, with abandonment and lies and broken promises, and often wondering if someone or something out there was more important. But I still believe you can become the man I know you can be, and I just wish I could be there to see it. Remember what I gave you, and don't forget that you do have another chance – with Henry.

I love you, Papa. We'll see each other again someday. I have no doubt. In the meantime, be as happy as you can be.
